Volunteer Agreement

Hope 4 ME Fibro NI recognises volunteers as people who, without obligation, undertake to assist or participate in activities which enable the charity to meet its overall Aims and Objectives therefore this agreement is in honour only and is not a legally binding contract of employment.

Hope 4 ME Fibro NI and the volunteer will regularly re-examine the relationship to ensure both parties are happy with current arrangements or to identify necessary changes.

As a Hope 4 ME Fibro NI volunteer: I understand that I am entitled to reimbursement of agreed expenses and/or support/training in relation to my volunteer role.

• I understand that I am not an employee.
• I agree to not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances when volunteering.
• I understand and agree that I am responsible for carrying out my own risk assessment on my working environment and reporting any concerns immediately to my Point of Contact (POC).
• If necessary, I will inform my POC if I wish them to be aware of any medications, I require i.e., an Epipen should a medical emergency occur.
• I agree I have a legal responsibility to record and report ALL untoward accidents / incidents / near misses, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, preferably within 24 hours of them occurring.
• I agree not discuss any sensitive information which I have acquired, either directly or indirectly, in the course of my work about a person or the charity other than with my POC.
• In accordance with the Charity’s Equal Opportunity Policy, I understand that volunteer placements are open to individuals irrespective of gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, marital status, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, political beliefs.
• I understand that if I demonstrate hostility to, or a clear lack of support for the equal opportunity policy, I will be deemed automatically to be unsuitable for a volunteer position at Hope 4 ME Fibro NI.
• I agree to promote all charity events and fundraisers ie sharing on social media outlets. 
• I agree to always adhere to the charity’s volunteer policies and procedures.
